05/25/2010--Please continue to pray for Spider as he found out today he has cancer in his right temporal bone and will see a specialist this Friday morning to map out a treatment program. He is also scheduled for surgery on June 10 to remove a cancerous kidney, as well as have a hernia operation. Spider needs our prayerful support now more than ever.
05/07/2010--Please pray for our good friend and classmate, Dennis "Spider" Johnson, who has just found out that he has cancer in his right kidney which will have to be removed very soon. Additionally, he is scheduled for a bone scan next week as the possibility exists the cancer is also in his bones.
Pray that the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ will graciously heal Spider's body and in the process, bring Spider into a closer relationship with Himself.

04/30/2009--Please pray for our classmate April (Bishop) Clark. She has a non-cancerous brain tumor that is causing her eye problems. It is treatable, but the treatment needs to get started as soon as possible in order to prevent permanent eye damage. Once all of her tests are complete she will begin taking medication which is supposed to shrink her tumor, which is pressing on her optic nerve. If the pressure is not relieved soon she will go blind. Please pray that April's faith will remain strong at this time and that she continues to trust and lean upon the Lord for strength and healing as she goes through her treatment.

"Please keep my family in your prayers. My Mother's doctor has given her a very grim prognosis as her heart is failing rapidly and there is no more they can do. She has always been a saint in my eyes and she gives me strength. But for me, this time of year brings a time when I lost my Father 26 years ago on the 24th of this month and then I lost my brother Tim two years ago on December 9th. So I ask for your prayers. Thanks."

04/14/2008--I know a lot of you will remember Coach Harold Jones. He taught, coached, and more importantly, profoundly influenced quite a few of us in our youth at Central Jr. High. I know in my own case, Coach Jones was exactly what I needed in terms of a male role model at that point in my life. As the saying goes: "When the student is ready the teacher will appear." I am proud to be able to say that Mr. Jones was my teacher and coach!

01/07/2008--I'm very sorry to report that Joy Lancaster recently lost her older brother Thomas who passed away on January 1, 2008. We are all very sorry for your loss Joy and trust that the memories of your brother will overshadow and outlast the sorrow of your loss.
09/27/2007--I have been informed that Bill Pierson has been diagnosed and is being treated for lung cancer. Evidently, it is a slow growing cancer and they are hoping to treat it with chemotherapy and some radiation. There is a tumor on one of Bill's lungs and they are hoping radiation treatments will shrink it and then they might be able to remove the diseased part of his lung. 05/07/2007--Sadly, I received the following email today from Judy (McNett) Berry regarding her brother:
Leonard McNett, 51, of Napa, California, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007 in De Soto, Kansas. Leonard was born 11/17/1955 in Hutchinson, Kansas. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 5:00 PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 132665 Lexington Avenue in De Soto, Kansas.
Leonard graduated from Hutchinson High School and had some college. He worked for Arrow Machine in Hutchinson before taking a job with KVAL in Petaluma, California. He loved to sail and enjoyed the outdoors and riding his motorcycle.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife Robin McNett in 2002 and his mother Naomi McNett in 2004. He is survived by his daughter Mandy Bennett and her husband Todd of Raleigh, North Carolina, his son Willie McNett of Wichita, Kansas. Father Willis McNett of Fredonia, Kansas and sister, Janie Steckline and her husband Dennis of De Soto, Kansas, Joyce Lentz and her husband Dennis of Boise, Idaho, Judy Berry and her husband Tom of Lenexa, Kansas and Lillian Obermite-Wimer and her husband Robert of Hutchinson, Kansas. Leonard also had three grandchildren, Ian McNett, Elizabeth and Samuel Bennett.

04/14/2007--I received the following email today from Judy (McNett) Berry. I know she would appreciate everyone's prayers for her brother.
"I got word today that my little brother is having problems with his liver. He is jaundiced and they found a mass on his liver. They have taken a biopsy and will get the results next week. He is by himself in Napa, California and my sister Joyce said he sounds scared. I haven't spoken to him yet, but hopefully will get to sometime this weekend. Please pray that the doctors do not find cancer, but if so that it is operable. He was getting ready to start treatment for "Hepatitis C" and that is when they found this. Love, Judy." 06/26/2006--Sadly, Nancy Turney's Dad passed away at home on 06/24/2006. I know that Nancy has greatly appreciated everyone's thoughts and prayers for her Dad. Feel free to contact Nancy personally to offer your condolences.
08/14/2005--Nancy (Crawford) Yoder has asked me to let everyone know that she has been sick all weekend and asked if those of you who are inclined to do so would please remember to pray for her as she has a number of genetic diseases she is having to deal with right now. She said she has Systemic Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Raynauds, Celiac Sprue, Gastroparesis and Peripherial Neuropathy. She also said this week has been particularly hard for her due to a number of personal problems she is having to deal with, i.e., a recent divorce, moving, retirement after 32 years and her brother in law just found out his cancer has returned. She said she knows she can handle everything, but also believes that prayers from others can and do make a big difference. So please pray for Nancy as you feel led. Feel free to contact Nancy personally.
